Meet Luis Alexander, your Cordova Community Representative and advocate. Luis organizes local events, supports the community, and fosters connections among residents. He is also the founder of the Town of Cordova initiative, established in September 2024.

Noah plays a key role in shaping Cordova’s voice and identity leading outreach efforts while designing our logos, monthly newsletters, and community materials. He proudly initiated the petition for Cordova at the start of 2024, helping spark momentum for the community’s future.

Founded in 1835, Cordova, TN, began as a small farming village and grew into a thriving residential and commercial suburb of Memphis. Originally called Allentown, then Marysville and Dexter, it became Cordova in 1903 to avoid confusion with another town on the railroad.

Many residents of Cordova have long expressed interest in greater local control and identity. The de-annexation petition is a step toward separating the remainder of Cordova from the City of Memphis, with the ultimate goal of exploring future incorporation.

Cordova has two main ZIP codes: 38016 and 38018. With a population of over 85,000 residents, roughly 5–6,000 live in unincorporated Shelby County, while the rest are within city limits. If your ZIP code is 38016 or 38018, you are part of the Cordova community!

Fletcher Creek Park is a hidden gem in Cordova, located on Chimney Rock Blvd. Surrounded by residential neighborhoods, it features a playground, pavilion, seating areas, and walking trails, making it a perfect spot to spend time with family and enjoy the outdoors.

Bert Ferguson Park is another hidden gem in Cordova, located at 8505 Trinity Road. The park features large walking trails, a playground, and the community center, with the Cordova Library conveniently right next door. It’s a great spot for family outings, community events, and outdoor activities.
